Ancho Achieves Scottish Housing Quality Standards With LHC And Sidey

To meet the deadline for achieving the Scottish Housing Quality Standard, Irving based ANCHO has used LHC’s OJEU compliant pre-tendered Framework Arrangement for PVC-U Windows and Doors & Associated Products (U8).

ANCHO is a progressive and innovative housing association that aims to meet housing need within North Ayrshire. It currently owns and manages over 900 properties in Ayrshire and provides Property Management services to over 250 owner occupiers.

Sidey Limited was appointed, via LHC’s U8 Framework Arrangement, to manufacture and install PVC-U windows and composite doorsets.  Sidey worked with ANCHO right from the initial design concepts through to resident liaison and completion.

Paul Andrews, Maintenance Co-ordinator at ANCHO said: “Currently, housing associations are under a massive pressure, with limited funding available, not only to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard, but to do so in an efficient and sustainable manner.

“Using LHC’s U8 Framework Arrangement has removed this pressure from our technical team and meant that work was on site really quickly and completed much sooner than we expected, which has not only delivered exactly what we needed, but also greatly impressed our residents.”

LHC’s U8 Framework Arrangement provides for the supply and installation or supply only of PVC-U windows and doors plus associated products for both replacement and new build contracts within the UK.

Six companies, including Sidey, service the Framework Arrangement, operating within five regions across England, Wales and Scotland, to give national coverage to all UK local authorities, housing associations and public sector bodies.

David Brownlie, Commercial Sales Manager of Sidey commented, “We have worked with ANCHO for many years, delivering a complete package of products and services to help them achieve the Scottish Housing Quality Standards quickly and efficiently.”

U8 is the latest in a series of 10 available from LHC, covering a wide range of building products, services and contractors, currently being used by over 200 public sector customers from across the UK.

The Framework Arrangement also offers advanced sustainable and environmental strategies and all products comply with the most stringent requirements of the Building Regulations and meeting the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.

Clive Feeney, LHC Business Development Manager concluded: “With all of its framework arrangements, LHC aims to provide as much support as possible to ensure that all Government targets for procurement are reached.

“As Sidey demonstrated at ANCHO, this means necessary works for achieving targets such as the Scottish Housing Quality Standards, can be completed efficiently, and to a high standard, protecting the long-term value of the estate and as well as reducing costly maintenance and repair schedules.”
