The Government’s response to the Gershon review in 2004 was to identify specific targets for efficiency gains by 2007 - 08. These are set out below:
Social Housing Efficiency Target: £835 million (see box 10.1 page 108 of this document)
Education Efficiency Target: £4300 million (see box 7.3 page 91 of this document)
