The purpose of LHC is to establish, develop and maintain arrangements for the procurement of building components and services, together with supporting documentation and service, to help public sector bodies throughout the United Kingdom in their projects for the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of buildings.

In pursuit of its purpose, LHC shall:

  • consult with LHC customers on their requirements and expectations for components and services arrangements and on all aspects of LHC arrangements
  • take into account statutory and regulatory requirements, consider care for the environment and seek industry best practice in so far as they relate to the purpose of LHC
  • regularly review the requirements and expectations of LHC customers
  • establish, maintain and regularly review a quality system consisting of procedures designed to maintain consistently a level of performance by LHC that will satisfy the requirements and expectations of LHC customers
  • maintain and regularly review an appropriate level of professional and technical expertise
  • maintain and regularly review appropriate levels of infrastructure, working conditions and support services
  • pursue continuous improvement of the effectiveness of LHC's Quality Policy throughout the organisation
  • communicate and explain through regular briefings LHC's Quality Policy to all members of the organisation
