LHC is proud to be a CLOCS champion, working with clients, contractors and fleet operators to improve community safety through improved construction logistics.

Our aim is to increase awareness of the CLOCS standard to all of our stakeholder groups with the intention of embedding this requirement for Community Safety in relevant construction contracts. Here’s how you can help:

Contracting Authorities

Procurement departments can specify compliance with the CLOCS standard in tender documents through specific PQQ clauses and ITT requirements.

The CLOCS guide to managing work related road risk in contracts is available here. An exemplar clause used by LHC in their PQQ documents is available here.

Planning departments can deliver improvements in community safety through Local Plans, Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) and Section 106 agreements. The requirement of contractors to demonstrate their compliance with the CLOCS standard in Construction Management/Logistics Plans is particularly effective.

CLOCS guide to improving road safety available now

The CLOCS guide to improving road safety using the planning process is available here.

Contractors and suppliers interested in applying for a position on LHC frameworks will need to demonstrate their commitment to improved community safety on LHC projects. Interested companies are encouraged to join the CLOCS Community here.

Elected Members of local authorities are encouraged to contact the officers responsible for procurement and planning in their organisations or to contact LHC directly.
