LHC’s Technical Manager, Jim Noble has been invited to sit on the British Standards Institute (BSi) Domestic and Contract Furniture Standards Committee which incorporates standards for kitchen cabinets and worktops.
The committee, which has a broad representation from the furniture industry and related bodies, is responsible for the development of relevant British and European furniture standards.
Jim commented, “I am pleased to have been invited to participate in this committee which helps to set the standards for design, materials, safety and sizing for furniture. I will be able to contribute on issues relating to kitchen units.
“This opportunity will help LHC ensure high standards are developed and maintained in consideration of the needs of social landlords and other users of LHC’s frameworks. I will also be able to keep in touch with developing market and technical trends which will help contribute to planning future frameworks.”
Jim will be able to present relevant questions on behalf of companies appointed to LHC’s Supply of Kitchen Units and Worktops framework to the committee as well as consult with companies on issues relevant to developing standards.
