With 20% of current funding for the affordable housing programme 2015-2018 in England is set aside for advanced manufacturing solutions such as off-site, the presenters were keen for social landlords to consider the off-site solution to take advantage of this opportunity.
It was also stressed that higher energy efficiency standards require a reduction in carbon emissions and there is a need to take on fuel poverty. Building homes off-site in a factory environment is the way forward for achiving these cost effectively
